3. Installation Process:

   • Sequence Installation: Sheet piles are installed in sequence to the design depth along the planned excavation perimeter or seawall alignment.
   • Equipment: Vibratory hammers are typically used for installation. Impact hammers can be used for harder or denser soils, and hydraulic methods can be used at sites where vibrations are a concern.

4. Product Notes and Guidelines:

   • Competent Personnel: Trench sheets should only be installed and removed by competent persons using excavators suitable for the size of the trench sheet and anticipated ground conditions.
   • Handling and Pitching: Experienced banksmen should handle and pitch trench sheets, ensuring proper safety measures and precautions are taken.
   • Driving Cap: Safe Cycle recommends using a driving cap to prevent unnecessary damage to the tops of the trench sheets during installation.
   • Stacking and Handling: Sheets should be stacked in bundles of no more than 6, staggered on timber spacers to facilitate ease of handling and minimize the risk of trapping hands/fingers.
   • Extraction: Trench sheets must only be removed using extractors to avoid damage to the spring mechanism.
   • Groundwater Ingress: Interlocking trench sheets can provide limited protection against groundwater ingress, but caution is advised in areas with high water flows.
